Recording Information & Terms

Verden Studios Recording Information & Terms

The following is to let you know what to expect when recording at Verden. It should be noted that in trading with us you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  1. An estimate for the cost of your recording work will be provided. This will be based on a suggested number of hours or a package price.
  2. No recordings will be considered confirmed until a deposit of 50% of this estimate is paid.  This to be paid no later than 1 month in advance or at the point of booking, whichever is sooner.  1 month is required for cancellations and changes.  We reserve the right to retain any deposit paid in the case of late cancellations or schedule changes to recompense for lost bookings.
  3. The total cost of your recording will be either the package cost if a timed package is built, or the full hours taken. If additional hours over the package estimate are taken these are agreed to be paid for.
  4. Both packages and hourly recordings involve us turning down any bookings in and around the recording suite (to allow full recording silence) and therefore any hours booked but not used will still be charged at the full rate. At our discretion these may be carried forward.
  5. Further hours booked or carried forward where not scheduled in advance may not be subject to full recording silence.
  6. Where a deposit is not paid a month in advance your engineer may need to take short breaks to assist other clients booked previously, from time to time.
  7. All recording work remains property of Verden Studios Ltd until paid for in full. Work incurred to date must be paid for before any audio files or CDs are taken away.
  8. Where longer projects are undertaken work incurred up to a value of £250 must be paid for before any further work continues unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  9. When undertaking professional recording for clients the client retains all Intellectual Property Rights, and rights of usage to the final product (one or more audio tracks supplied as a .wav file or .aiff CD audio at 44.1kHz/16 bit). However the individual higher-resolution tracks, materials, methods, equipment and settings used (the component parts) of the work done remain the property of Verden Studios. Any request by the client to receive individual edits, settings and/or to reproduce any component parts must be considered a separate job and quoted for on this basis.
  10. The client agrees to allow Verden Studios Ltd to retain and replay for private promotional purposes, audio samples of finished recorded work. This includes shortened audio samples of recording work being available for play on the Verden Studios Ltd website for promotional and illustratory purposes.
  11. The client agrees that in any reproduced CDs, online downloads, or other physical or digital reproduction a credit will be given to Verden Studios as audio engineers in every case and producers when appropriate. These credits should appear in the full form for any printed material and the shortened form for any digital material:
